Principal’s Message
Welcome to Harrisdale Primary, proudly an Independent Public School.
Harrisdale Primary is a relatively new school, opening February 1st, 2016. The school is a modern and innovative educational campus boasting state -of –the- art facilities, and catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school is currently one of the fastest growing schools in W.A and in 2020 was the largest primary school in W.A, operating over two campuses -the main campus located at 7 Fairhaven Avenue and the second campus for Kindergarten and Pre-primary students, located on Tettigoni Parade, Harrisdale.
Our hashtag #everystudentsuccessful represents our vision for the school in which every child will be provided with opportunities to succeed. Success may be in the form of academic success but of equal importance, is our holistic approach to ensure students are given opportunities to be successful creatively, physically, socially and emotionally.

We prioritise the learning of literacy and numeracy by providing a strong start in the early years of schooling and consolidating this over students’ primary schooling years to ensure we build strong literacy and numeracy foundations.
We are aware of our responsibilities in equipping students for living and working in the 21st Century. Technologies are incorporated throughout the school’s learning programs allowing students to explore, innovate, create, collaborate, think critically and problem-solve. We seek to develop students who are environmentally and globally aware and responsive, and who will contribute positively to the world in which they live.
We are an Apple technologies school with a BYO (Bring your Own iPad) Program in Years 3-6. We are a lead school in this area and have been selected as a Teacher Development School in the area of Digital Technologies and a STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) Mentor School.
Pivotal to student success is the role of the teacher, and at Harrisdale Primary we prioritise recruitment and development of quality teaching staff so that our programs and practices align to current research and evidenced-based practice. We have outstanding specialist staff who provide specialist tuition in Music, Art, Physical Education, French Language (Years 3-6) and Junior Science (PP-Yr2). Our teachers are enthusiastic, dedicated and caring, working hard to ensure every student achieves success.
The school is the hub of the local community and we work in partnership with our families and local community to instil a sense of connection and engagement, and to develop relationships where members of our school community feel welcome, included and respected.
