The Arts
All students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 participate in music and art lessons.
Each class attends one fifty five minute lesson a week in a purpose built, well-resourced music and art room with a specialist teacher.
At Harrisdale Primary School we endeavour to instil in our students a love for, and appreciation of The Arts. The music program is based on the National Curriculum for the Arts (Music) developed by ACARA and encompasses singing, playing, moving and composing in a variety of musical styles using instruments and digital technologies. The Visual Arts program is based on the National Curriculum for the Arts (Visual Art) developed by ACARA and allows students to create visual representations of their ideas, experiences, observations and imagination.
Students in years 4, 5 and 6 have the opportunity to participate in extra curricular Arts activities, in both music and visual arts.
